(Even my pc struggles with that one) They optimized it quite nice its a stable 30fps i love it. @CJD87 I believe it’s 60fps in fighting mode, but gameplay is limited to 30fps in the ‘open world’ – including the fights that happen in there. My Switch 2 should arrive tomorrow.I also ordered Mario Kart World(want this physical) and I already have the Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 Edition.I’m ready, I don’t care about the rest of these games now. I already own some of these games on other platforms.I could imagine getting Sonic Generations on Switch 2 and sell my Xbox version. So far I have a couple of these played and around a dozen more I’d like to buy, though half of those are on indefinite hold with all my storage space occupied by unplayed, performance-boosted Switch 1 games. Considering the cost of microsds and that I’ll probably want to keep a lot of those Switch games on there permanently, I have no idea if or when I’ll get around to the rest of the new ones.

For many who stick with one game throughout the years, 2024 has delivered some great expansions. Destiny 2’s newest update, The Final Shape, is a worthwhile finale to Bungie’s long-running shooter, while World of Warcraft’s latest expansion, The War Within, kicks off a new start for Blizzard’s beloved MMORPG. I happen to like Euro-Jank story presentation so I like how it’s told. But some who are more used to how Japanese and American developers present their stories might find it more obtuse than it needs to be. As for the Euro Jank gameplay… Stalker taught me a long time ago how to put up with it. Although I admit it’s the one game I own on Switch 2 where I just can’t comfortably use it in pure handheld mode. Compare that to how feature rich something like Fantasy Life I is. Before you know it, you’ll have access to new gear, weapons, and assasisnation techniques. In many ways, this is the most complete Assassin’s Creed experience we’ve seen yet. As a quick note, these aren’t games that are only on PS5 – you want our best PS5 exclusives list for those games and their brethren – but rather the best ones you can play on PS5 more broadly right now.

Nevertheless, it all builds towards a climax that, while satisfying, loses some of the ambiguity that seems to define the series. Avowed is surprisingly combat heavy, especially in its second half. It’s possible to play with the usual array of melee weapons—swords, axes, spears, maces—but you’d be missing out on a lot if you’re not playing Avowed like 21st century Hexen, mixing powerful ranged attacks with down-and-dirty close quarters hacking. Every one-handed weapon can be dual-wielded, so I normally roamed with a grimoire in one hand and a fire-enchanted sword in the other, raining down elemental area of effect attacks on bears, bugs and lizardmen before sprinting in to hack away.

S era brought us 81 games that IGN awarded a review score of 8 or higher. We’re fresh off the launch of the Switch 2, and thankfully there’ll be more to play on that new console as part of July 2025 video game release dates. Some of the missable sidequests, particularly in the first area, take me places other studios would want to frontload in the opening hours of the main quest. At Meeple Mountain we strive to represent the unique and diverse members of the board gaming community while also publishing the best board game reviews, editorials, articles, top 6 lists, and more. The early access release of PoE2 is absolutely worth a spin for ARPG fans, though its first big update hasn’t been received well.

The best time to expand your games library is when discounts come thick and… Chronicles of the Wolf can be a little frustrating at times, but overall it’ll likely prove to be a treat for Castlevania fans. If you’re a fan of Vampire Survivors and its ilk, you’re going to want to play Soulstone Survivors, out now on PC and consoles. Improving your train and visiting quaint little towns make Locomoto a must-play for cosy game fans. Thanks to the freedom of its outstanding building mechanic, Fortnite Battle Royale isn’t just a great battle royale game – it’s one of the best multiplayer games in recent history. A lot of that you’ve probably seen in a Star Wars game before, but one of Outlaws’ most interesting and novel features is its syndicate system, which reminded me of the reputation system used in The Outer Worlds. Basically, you can’t really complete a quest over the course of the campaign without pissing off one of the four main crime families in order to please another. Cosying up with one cartel might get you cheaper prices at a merchant you’re onside with, but it’ll also rob you of the ability to move about freely within the headquarters of another gang you’ve slighted, inadvertently or otherwise. Outlaws’ combat serves up some solid cover-based shooting with authentic sounds and punchy smoke-and-spark effects with each blaster bolt impact, but precious little in the way of new ideas – it’s less Bad Batch and more basic bitch. There’s always the challenge of knowing when to detonate them to take out the most enemies, but that’s the same thing we’ve been doing for decades, so while it’s effective, it doesn’t make Outlaws’ combat stand out.

Still, there are certainly some compelling twists that make the last six episodes of this intense saga worthwhile. This trio of games centers on base building and resource gathering as a top priority for survival, but the best thing about these games is that you never lose sight of what’s important – the people. 11 Bit Studios always finds the humanity in the brutal fight for survival, and the studio’s newest game is no different.

S, PC, and Switch 2. Boosting at the start line is a staple of the Mario Kart series, and with 24-players, it’s more crucial than ever before in Mario Kart World. But Avowed isn’t just a first-person action game, and after a while the artifice of its RPG systems started to show. These limits first became apparent when I, a lowly thief, realised I can rob people blind with no consequences at all.
